Festivals!! London, Toulouse, Madrid, Gáldar…
I knew filming a movie was an arduous task yet I never knew how difficult it was to present a finished film, especially without a studio´s backing, named directors or well known actors. Yet almost two and a half years after participating in ‘Casting’ and a year after acting in the ‘The Extraordinary Tale’ both films are finally starting to be shown in various festivals throughout Europe and Spain, and will hopefully be shown in theaters and art houses internationally. I´m anxiously awaiting for people to see both movies, and I am extremely proud to be a part of these films.
The Extraordinary Tale is a dark fairy tale about love, marriage, the birth of a child, and death. It is a visually stunning film that reminds me of the whimsical tone and visual style of Jean-Pierre Jeunet´s Delicatessen. It premieres in the London Spanish Film Festival the 28th of September and in the festival Cinespaña in Toulouse, France the 2nd of October. (Directed by José F. Ortuño and Laura Alvea)
Casting tells the universal struggle that actors go through while looking for an opportunity to demonstrate their talent. It shows the prejudices that exist based on physical appearances, the highs and lows of the profession, relationships that form between actors and gives a glimpse into the personal lives of some of these individuals. Casting will be shown in the festival Cinespaña in Toulouse, France the 30th of September, at the Madrid Film Festival - PNR the 2nd of October, and at the Festival de Cine Galdar, Canary Islands 2-5 of October. (Directed by Jorge Naranjo)
